The Secretary General of the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) was invited to attend the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Samdech Preah Agga Mah? Sanghar?j?dhipati Tep Vong, who served as the Great Supreme Patriarch of Cambodia from 2006 until his passing on February 26, 2024. Born on 12 January, 1932, Tep Vong was renowned for his pivotal role in re-establishing the Cambodian monkhood following the devastating Pol Pot period. He was also known for his close connections with prominent political leaders in Cambodia from the 1980s onward. His leadership and influence were instrumental in the revival and stabilization of Buddhism in Cambodia during a critical period in the nation's history.

During his visited to Cambodia, Shartse Khensur Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden, SG, IBC ceremoniously presented statues of the Lord Buddha to Dr. Shinkai Kori, the esteemed top leader of the Nenbutsushu group of the Buddhist Sangha from Japan and serves as the President of the World Buddhist Summit. During their meeting, the two leaders engaged in discussions about the state of Buddhism around the world, exploring ways to promote and preserve Buddhist teachings and practices globally.

Shartse Khensur Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden, Secretary General of the International Buddhist Confederation also presented statues of the Lord Buddha from IBC to top leader of Cambodian Buddhist Sangha.
