A three-member delegation from Myanmar headed by Venerable Pannazawda, Chief Monk of Alodawpyie Meditation Centre, along with Mr. San Swe (Interpreter) and Mr. Nyi Nyi Tun visited International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) office at Janpath, New Delhi on 4th May, 2024.
2. The delegation members were welcomed by Ven. Shartse Khensur Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden, Secretary General, IBC and Dr. Rabindra Panth, Director, IBC with khatag and flower bouquet.
Mr. Abhijit Halder, Director General, International Buddhist Confederation recently went on a meaningful visit to Buddhist monasteries in Himachal Pradesh, India. This vissit helped in strengthening the connection between the International Buddhist Confederation and some sections of the Buddhist communities in Himachal Pradesh. It also provided an opportunity to talk with local monks, scholars, and practitioners about how to preserve Buddhist teachings and promote harmony among different religions.
3. During the meeting they discussed about promotion and preservation of Buddha Dhamma and initiative taken by India and IBC in this regard at the global level. They were of the view that India and Myanmar share cordial relation and they should come together for Buddha Dhamma. They also discussed about the relevance and importance of vipassana meditation.
