The International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) convened its General Assembly Meeting (GAM) on the 27th and 28th of November 2023 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The gathering served as a significant milestone, drawing together a distinguished assembly of office bearers from 28 countries, a truly global representation including Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Norway, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nepal, Mongolia, France and Germany, among others. The delegation was proud of its presence amidst the founding members of the IBC, lending a historical and foundational relevance to the event.
The inaugural day commenced with the introduction and adaption of the IBC's new constitution, setting the stage for a new phase in the organization's journey. The proceedings progressed to the nomination and election of new office bearers, a pivotal moment that enrolled fresh leadership and perspectives into the IBC.

The second day of the assembly featured an intellectually stimulating agenda, including presentations on a spectrum of topics ranging from environmental issues to enlightening Dhamma talks. The highlight of the programme was an open discussion forum, providing a platform for delegates to suggest, comment and engage in profound conversations about the future trajectory of the IBC. This interactive exchange fostered a sense of responsibility and collaboration among nations committed to the principles of Buddhism.
