A six-member delegation led by the Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden, Secretary General of the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) will participate in the United Nations Vesak Day on 19-20 May, 2024 in Thailand. This triple-blessed event celebrates the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of Lord Buddha and emphasizes the teachings of compassion, peace, and tolerance. The participation of IBC delegation underscores its commitment to interfaith dialogue, global cooperation and addressing contemporary challenges through Buddhist principles. Their involvement highlights the theme “Buddhist Contributions to Global Well-being and Sustainable Development,” promoting unity and enlightenment for a more equitable and harmonious world. The IBC team would also include prominent monks and academicians.
